”From Pellinge to Argentina”

30 years of friendship and mutual devotion for folk music is reflected when Marianne Maans and Maria Kalaniemi make music together. The duo performs traditional folk music from Pellinge and beautiful folk songs from various parts of the world. The evening includes a surprise soloist!

”Neighbours of the Sea”

Coffee and cake is included

On Pellinge we live close to the sea. We are familiar with its moods. The powerful swelling of the waves of the sea , the calm and idyllic lake and the soft murmurs of the stream have throughout time inspired many poets and composers. In addition to coffee and cake this concert is offering us one of the universally most known pieces in this genre, the sparkling Trout Quintet by Franz Schubert.

“Encounters”

In this program we are facing some unpredicted and predicted encounters. On one hand the contemporary forms of musical expression, where the tones of the clarinet shiver like butterfly wings, will meet the more traditional music by Mozart and Schumann. On the other hand our great musicians of the evening will meet each other in genuine chamber music collaboration.

“Shadow of the Future”

In 2020, the world will celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday. Side by side with his immortal music from the past something completely new will be performed; a world premiere for voice and piano written by the internationally rising Finnish composer Cecilia Damström.
