Teemu Kauppinen

Teemu Kauppinen began playing the double bass at the age of nine at the Hyvinkää Music Institute. He continued his studies at the Sibelius Academy under Jussi Javas and at the Cologne University of Music under Prof. Veit-Peter Schüssler. Kauppinen completed his A-levels in 1997 and gave his first concert, awarded by the Sibelius Academy, in the spring of 2000. Kauppinen completed his A-level studies in 1997. He completed his Master’s degree in music in 2003. Teemu Kauppinen is a regular member of the Helsinki Radio Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his orchestral work, he is a sought-after and active chamber musician; in recent years he has performed at the Naantali Music Festival, Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, Korsholm, Iitti and Hauho Music Festivals, and the Avanti! Suvisoitto, among others.
