Sofia Finnilä & An evening with songs by Lasse Mårtenson

Sofia Finnilä is a versatile jazz musician. She has a master’s degree from the Sibelius Academy, and in 1999 she won first prize in the “Lady Summertime“ -competition. Finnilä has since worked with many famous jazz musicians in Finland and abroad, and also composed as well as arranged music for many theaters around Finland.

This jazz combo was created especially for this concert series. All members of the ensemble have known each other, and worked together on many occasions. The last collaboration was at Porin Teatteri (Pori Theater) 2021–2023, and the idea of touring the archipelago with Mårtenson’s music was born after the end of that production.
