Fanny Henn
Mezzosoprano Fanny Henn first appeared on stage at the age of 14 in Ilkka Kuusisto's play ”Fjäriln Vingad” at Svenska Teatern (Swedish Theater), playing one of the Graces. A few years later, she worked as a singer in the concept ”Ilveilijäperhe” at Linnanmäki in Helsinki. Since then, she has performed at e.g. Oulun Kaupunginteatteri in the musical My Fair Lady and Tapio Tuomela's opera Neljäntienristeys, and at Åbo Svenska Teater in the chorus of the opera The Marriage of Figaro. Her most recent opera roles include Ottone in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, The Grand Duchess in Berkeley’s A Dinner Engagement, Second Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, the roles of Madama La Rose and Madama Rosa in Rossini’s La Gazzetta and Donizetti’s Il Campanello, and Girl 2 in P.H. Nordgren’s The Black Monk.
As a concert soloist, Henn has performed with the Finnish Baroque Orchestra and with the Helsinki Metropolitan Orchestra in the Messiah and Elijah oratorios, respectively. She has also performed as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra Vivo and the Finnish Musical Theatre Ensemble in a concert featuring music from Les Misérables and West Side Story. In 2023, she was chosen as the Soloist of the Year by the Päivi and Paavo Lipponen Foundation. Henn has recently completed her master's degree from the Sibelius Academy's Opera Master´s program under the guidance of Monica Groop.
